Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are scheduled to have surgery on your nose or sinuses
  • If you are in the nasal polyp group: you have had at least 2 of these symptoms for 12 weeks or more — a blocked nose, a runny nose (front or back), facial pain or pressure, or a reduced/lost sense of smell — AND a doctor has seen polyps (small growths) in both sides of your nose using a small camera

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are unable to blow your nose to provide a mucus/secretion sample
  • Your nasal polyps are caused by another underlying condition, such as cystic fibrosis, a problem with how your cilia (tiny hairs in the nose) work, an immune system disorder, or a fungal sinus condition
  • You are unable to read or write
  • You do not wish to give your consent to take part
  • You are under a legal protection order, such as guardianship or curatorship
  • You do not have social security (health insurance) coverage
  • You are currently in prison or held under an official detention order
  • You are already taking part in another clinical study that has an ongoing exclusion period preventing you from joining new studies
