- Adults who are 55 years of age or older
- People who live independently in the community (not in a care facility)
- People who are able to walk on their own, with or without a walking aid such as a cane or walker

- People who have had a major surgery or been hospitalised in the past 3 months
- People who have a serious heart condition or other health condition that a doctor has determined makes exercise unsafe for them
- People with moderate to severe dementia, or a serious mental health condition
- People who are unable to commit to a 4-week mindfulness meditation program or a 12-week walking-pole exercise program
