- People whose heart pumping function is significantly reduced — specifically, where the heart pumps less than 35% of its blood volume with each beat
- People with a certain level of advanced kidney disease (confirm with trial site for exact CKD staging criteria)
- People who are unable to fully understand what taking part in the trial involves, or who cannot provide written consent due to cognitive or mental health conditions
- People who have a non-heart-related illness that means they are not expected to live longer than one year
