Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults aged 18 or older
  • People who have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) according to recognised medical classification guidelines, within 12 months of their first visit to an Early Arthritis Clinic
  • People who started conventional arthritis medication (known as csDMARDs, such as methotrexate) within 12 months of their symptoms first appearing
  • People who have been continuously taking conventional arthritis medication for at least 24 months
  • People who have never used biologic or targeted synthetic arthritis medications (a more advanced type of treatment)
  • People whose RA has been in a low-disease-activity state (meaning symptoms are well controlled) for at least 6 months, without the use of steroid medications
  • People whose treating rheumatologist has agreed, through a shared decision-making process, to a plan of gradually reducing or stopping their arthritis medication with regular monitoring as part of their normal care
  • People who are able to give written consent to participate in the registry

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose RA affects parts of the body beyond the joints (such as the lungs, eyes, or skin — confirm with trial site)
  • People who have another ongoing chronic inflammatory or autoimmune condition affecting the joints or muscles, in addition to RA
  • People with a personal history of psoriasis affecting the skin or nails
  • People with serious heart or cardiovascular disease
  • People with a severe physical disability that would make it difficult to follow the study procedures or attend follow-up appointments
  • People with severe cognitive impairment (significant difficulties with memory or thinking)
