Who may be able to join
For people without cognitive impairment:
- Adults aged 50 to 90 years (inclusive)
- People whose first language is French
- People covered by or entitled to a social security scheme
- People who have been informed about the trial and have not objected to taking part
For people with cognitive impairment:
- Adults aged 50 to 90 years (inclusive)
- People whose first language is French
- People receiving memory care with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease at an early or more advanced stage, a diagnosis of vascular cognitive impairment, or a diagnosis of a specific type of language disorder known as semantic variant primary progressive aphasia — each diagnosed according to recognised medical criteria
- People who scored 20 or higher out of 30 on a standard memory and thinking test (called the MMSE), taken within the 6 months before joining the trial
- People covered by or entitled to a social security scheme
- People who have been informed about the trial and have not objected to taking part
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
For all participants:
- People with serious, worsening, or unstable health conditions that could affect assessment results, such as epilepsy, acute psychiatric or psychotic disorders, visual hallucinations, or acute infection
- People whose substance use may affect their cognitive performance
- People with deafness or blindness that could prevent them from completing the assessments or tasks involved in the trial
- People who are under a form of legal guardianship or court-ordered protection
- Women who are pregnant, recently gave birth, or are currently breastfeeding
For people without cognitive impairment only:
- People who have previously been diagnosed with cognitive impairment
For people with cognitive impairment only:
- People with severe behavioural or psychological symptoms that would prevent them from completing the trial tasks, as determined by the trial investigator
