Who may be able to join
- People aged between 50 and 85 years old.
- People who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease by a qualified neurologist using 2024 diagnostic guidelines, confirmed by at least one abnormal biological marker (such as a brain scan or blood/fluid test showing signs of Alzheimer's).
- People whose score on a standard memory and thinking test (called the MMSE) falls within a specific range depending on how many years of schooling they had (16–24 for 6 years or fewer of education; 18–27 for more than 6 years of education).

Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have another condition that could also be causing memory or thinking problems, such as vascular dementia, Parkinson's disease, frontotemporal dementia, Lewy body dementia, severe anxiety or depression, or schizophrenia.
- People who have had a stroke, brain bleed, heart attack, or heart failure within the 3 months before the screening visit.
- People who have active brain conditions such as recurring seizures, a brain tumour, certain blood vessel abnormalities in the brain, or an untreated aneurysm larger than 3 mm.
- People with serious liver problems, reduced kidney function, active cancer, severe anaemia, chronic lung disease (COPD), immune system disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, or blood pressure that remains high (at or above 160/100 mmHg).
- People who are currently taking medications that may interfere with the study results.
- People who have a known allergy or sensitivity to the study drug or any of its ingredients.
- People who have had 1 year or less of formal education.
- People with a known serious illness or whose life expectancy is estimated at less than 12 months.
- Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or of childbearing age who are not willing to use contraception during the study.
- People who have taken part in another clinical trial within the 30 days before screening, or who are currently enrolled in another clinical trial.
- People who have any other condition that the study doctor believes would make participation unsafe or prevent them from completing the study (confirm with trial site).
