Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older
- You are scheduled to have one of the following common ear, nose, and throat (ENT) procedures done in a clinic or doctor's office: turbinate reduction, nasal debridement, balloon sinuplasty, radiofrequency ablation (a procedure to treat nasal tissues), nasal polypectomy, eustachian tube dilation, vocal fold injection, or steroid injection in the airway below the voice box
- You are able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- You are able to speak and understand English
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a history of a neurological (brain or nerve) condition, seizures, developmental delays, uncorrected vision problems, motion sickness, or dizziness/balance problems such as vertigo (this applies to both the active and passive VR parts of the study)
- You are unable to use a handheld controller (this applies to the active VR part of the study only — confirm with trial site)
- Your medical records contain a "break the glass" flag or a "research opt out" note, meaning you have previously chosen not to participate in research or have restricted access to your records (confirm with trial site)
