Who may be able to join

  • Women between 18 and 65 years of age.
  • People whose overall physical health before surgery is rated at a low to moderate level by their medical team (known as ASA status I, II, or III).

  • People who take regular medication for long-term (chronic) pain.
  • People who have severe liver or kidney failure.
  • People who have a serious lung disease.
  • People who have taken any opioid pain medication (strong prescription pain relievers) within 24 hours before surgery.
  • People who have a condition affecting their thinking, memory, or understanding.
  • People who are having a repeat or revision of a previous surgery.
