Who might be able to join this trial:

- You have a history of being a regular smoker.
- You have been diagnosed with both a heart attack or serious heart condition (Acute Coronary Syndrome) and pneumonia, confirmed through medical tests, blood work, and imaging.

Who may not be able to join:

- You have been diagnosed with cancer, a systemic autoimmune disease, or are currently taking long-term medication that suppresses the immune system.
- You have severe kidney failure (end-stage renal disease) or serious liver problems that could affect certain blood test results used in the study.
- Your heart condition remains unstable or you are still in a state of cardiogenic shock (when the heart cannot pump enough blood) during the acute hospital phase.
- You pass away before completing the observation period of the study.
- You choose to withdraw your consent and leave the study at any point.
- You are unable to attend scheduled follow-up clinic visits or blood test appointments during the study.
