Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years old or older
- You have been diagnosed with Takotsubo Syndrome (a type of stress-related heart condition) based on recognised international diagnostic standards
- You have agreed to take part and signed a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- You are under 18 years old
- You have heart disease caused by a completely blocked artery in your heart
- You have another type of heart muscle disease at the same time
- You currently have an active infection affecting your heart muscle

- You had a heart attack in the 6 months before your current heart condition developed
- You had a procedure to treat blocked heart arteries in the 6 months before your current heart condition developed
- You have a serious problem with one or more of your heart valves
- You have a serious blockage in the arteries of your arms or legs
- You have, or have previously had, a blood or bone marrow cancer
- You are currently taking medication that suppresses your immune system
- You have another serious illness, such as cancer, that may affect how long you live
- You are not able or willing to give your informed consent to take part
