Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with a condition where reduced blood flow or oxygen to the intestines is causing problems, such as ischemic bowel disease or heart failure, and you experience repeated or ongoing stomach pain, bloating, and/or difficulty having bowel movements.
- You are able to get up and move around at least near your bed, and you can use the toilet in a normal sitting or squatting position.
- You are 18 years of age or older and are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
Who may not be able to join:
- You currently have a serious, urgent intestinal emergency such as a complete bowel blockage, a hole in your intestine, or severe active bleeding in your digestive tract.
- You have an abnormal opening or tunnel connecting your intestine to another part of your body (called an intestinal fistula).
- You have had abdominal surgery within the last month.
- You have a serious heart rhythm problem or breathing failure that is not under control.
- Your heart function is classified as the most severe category (Class IV) according to a standard heart failure scale (confirm with trial site).
- You have an abnormal sensitivity to pressure in your internal organs (confirm with trial site).
- You are unable to participate in or cooperate with the study assessments and procedures.
- The trial doctor believes there is another reason that makes it unsafe or unsuitable for you to join.
