Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease, shown by at least one of the following: a scan or imaging test showing a significant blockage (50% or more) in at least one major heart artery; a previously confirmed diagnosis of coronary heart disease that has been treated with medication, a procedure, or surgery; or confirmed evidence of reduced blood flow to the heart, or typical symptoms of the condition
- People who have completed a standard memory and thinking assessment during their hospital stay
- People who have had blood tests measuring blood sugar levels and related markers (such as fasting glucose, insulin, and HbA1c), and who agree to take part in relevant scans and other assessments
- People who have signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already been diagnosed with dementia
- People who have a history of stroke, bleeding in the brain, or other conditions affecting the brain and nervous system that are known to affect memory or thinking
- People who have a severe mental health condition, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
