Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome based on current standard diagnostic guidelines
- You have been on a stable medication routine for at least 1 month before joining the study
- You are able to understand and complete the study activities and fill out questionnaires
- You are able to give your written agreement to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- You have an implanted medical device (such as a pacemaker) or any metal or electronic device implanted near your ear or heart
- You have a history of serious heart artery disease or have had a heart attack
- You have heart failure that affects your daily activities or limits you significantly (confirm with trial site)
- You have an irregular heartbeat or an abnormally slow heart rate
- You have a build-up of fatty deposits in the arteries in your neck
- You have moderate or advanced kidney disease (stage 2 or higher)
- You have another immune system-related rheumatic condition alongside fibromyalgia
- You are pregnant
- You currently have cancer, or have had cancer in the past that is not fully in remission
- You currently have an active infection
- Your medications have been changed within the last month before joining the study
- You have a condition affecting your brain or nerves, with a specific exception for a particular type of nerve damage detected by a skin test (confirm with trial site)
- You showed signs of memory or thinking difficulties during a neurological check-up
- You have a serious mental health condition that requires its own specific treatment
- You have pain from another medical condition that cannot be clearly separated from your fibromyalgia pain
- You currently or previously have had problems with alcohol or substance misuse
- You are not able to understand the Italian language adequately
