Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had neck pain for at least 3 months, diagnosed by a specialist doctor as chronic non-specific neck pain (meaning no specific underlying cause has been identified)
- People aged between 18 and 45 years
- People whose pain is noticeable enough to affect everyday activities, rated at least 3 out of 10 on a pain scale
- People who have tender, tight spots in the muscles of the neck, shoulders, or upper back area (known as myofascial trigger points)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a serious diagnosed condition of the cervical spine, such as nerve compression, spinal cord problems, or significant spinal degeneration
- People with a history of rheumatological, neurological, or systemic illness, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, or cancer
- People who have had a neck, shoulder, or upper arm injury, fracture, or surgery in the past
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have been diagnosed with a psychiatric condition such as major depression or an anxiety disorder, or who regularly take psychiatric medication
- People who have used pain-relief medications such as anti-inflammatories, general painkillers, or muscle relaxants in the last 7 days
- People who have received physiotherapy, manual therapy, or injections to the neck area within the last 3 months
