Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 75 years old who are awake, able to communicate, and able to understand and fill out questionnaires and follow study procedures
- People whose main and only complaint is tinnitus (ringing or noise in the ears), and whose hearing test results show normal or near-normal hearing in both ears across a range of tones
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose tinnitus has a detectable physical cause that can be heard by others, or whose tinnitus is linked to balance problems, brain or nervous system conditions, heart or blood vessel conditions, or other physical ear diseases
- People with open wounds or skin sores on their feet or ears, swelling in the lower legs, a history of blood clots in the leg veins, or diabetes where recent blood sugar control has not been within a certain range (confirm with trial site)
- People who have a cardiac pacemaker or any other electronic device implanted in the body, or who have serious heart or cardiovascular disease
- People who have had foot reflexology or vagus nerve stimulation (a therapy involving stimulation of a nerve in the neck or ear) within the past 3 months
- Women who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- People with a history of epilepsy or seizures
- People who are in a physically frail condition
