Who may be able to join
- Women between the ages of 18 and 65.
- People who are scheduled for a planned surgery to remove the breast and some surrounding tissue (called a modified radical mastectomy) under general anesthesia.
- People whose overall health is rated by their anesthesiologist as falling within a low-to-moderate risk category (ASA physical status I–III) (confirm with trial site).

- People with serious liver or kidney disease.
- People with severe lung disease.
- People who have taken opioid pain medications within 24 hours before surgery.
- People with cognitive impairment or difficulty completing post-surgery assessments.
- People who are having revision (repeat) breast surgery.
- People who do not wish to take part in the study.
