Back to Ovarian Cancer
NCT00420381
NCT00420381
Who may be able to join
Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have ovarian cancer or primary peritoneal cancer that has come back or has not gone away after treatment.
- Your cancer can be measured on scans or tests, and there is at least one specific area of cancer that doctors can track to see if the treatment is working.
- You are not eligible for a higher-priority study through the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) at the time of joining.
- If you have had one previous cancer treatment, your general health and ability to carry out daily activities meets a certain minimum standard; if you have had two previous treatments, your health and activity level must meet a slightly higher standard (confirm with trial site).
- You have previously had at least one chemotherapy treatment containing a platinum-based drug (such as carboplatin or cisplatin) for your primary diagnosis.
- Any hormone therapy aimed at your cancer has been stopped for at least one week before joining; regular hormone replacement therapy (e.g., for menopause) is allowed to continue.
- Any other cancer treatments (including immunotherapy) have been stopped for at least four weeks before joining.
- If you are able to become pregnant, you have had a negative pregnancy test before starting and are using an effective form of contraception during the study and for 3 months after finishing treatment.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have previously been treated with the drug enzastaurin.
- You have had radiation therapy covering more than 25% of the areas in your body where bone marrow is produced.
- You have had another serious (invasive) cancer in the last 5 years, apart from certain common skin cancers, or your previous cancer treatment would make this trial unsafe for you.
- You have received an experimental drug (one not yet officially approved) within the last 30 days before joining.
- You are unable to stop taking certain anti-seizure medications, specifically carbamazepine, phenobarbital, or phenytoin (confirm with trial site).
- You are currently receiving any other systemic cancer treatment, except for a bone-strengthening medication (bisphosphonate) if your cancer has spread to your bones.
- You have previously received a non-chemotherapy cancer treatment, such as bevacizumab (a targeted therapy drug).
- You have a serious ongoing health condition — such as an active infection or a heart problem showing on an ECG — that the study doctor believes could put you at risk or prevent you from completing the study.
