Who may be able to join
- People who have been clinically diagnosed with Parkinson's disease
- People who do not have dementia and are cognitively stable
- People who are between 40 and 80 years old
- People who are able to travel to UBC (University of British Columbia) for 6 in-person visits over 18 months
- People who have a sufficient level of English, as the coaching and cooking classes are conducted in English only

- People who have been diagnosed with an atypical form of parkinsonism (rather than standard Parkinson's disease)
- People who have medical or psychiatric conditions that would prevent full participation in the nutrition program, such as food allergies, serious swallowing difficulties, insulin-dependent diabetes, use of warfarin (a blood thinner), or inflammatory bowel disease
- People who have clinical dementia
- People who are unable to complete questionnaires or follow study instructions
- People who are currently using immune-modifying medications (confirm with trial site)
- People who have used probiotic supplements in the 4 weeks before the study starts
- People who have used antibiotics in the 3 months before the study starts
- People who have any conditions that mean an MRI scan is not safe for them
