Who may be able to join

Who may not be able to join

- People who have previously had any brain-based treatment for Parkinson's disease, such as deep brain stimulation, focused ultrasound, gene therapy, or other biological treatments.
- People with a history of significant memory or thinking problems, or dementia.
- People with a history of a significant condition called Dopa Dysregulation Syndrome (an unhealthy relationship with Parkinson's medications) (confirm with trial site).
- People with a history of epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, a poorly controlled or worsening neurological condition (other than Parkinson's), or poorly controlled heart or blood vessel disease.
- People who are unable to temporarily stop taking blood-thinning or anti-clotting medications for at least 2 weeks.
- People who have had a cancer diagnosis (in the brain or elsewhere in the body) within the past 5 years, except for certain treated skin cancers.
- People for whom an MRI scan or the use of contrast dyes used in certain scans is not safe or suitable.
- People who weigh more than 300 pounds or have a Body Mass Index (BMI) above 35.
- People with newly diagnosed or poorly controlled diabetes, or any other serious ongoing or sudden health condition that would significantly raise the risks of brain surgery.
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who have significant uncontrolled movement side effects from their Parkinson's medication, based on a specific movement assessment scale.
- People who are capable of having children but are unwilling to use barrier contraception (such as condoms) for 3 months after receiving the trial treatment.
- People who are unable to follow the trial's procedures, including attending frequent and lengthy follow-up appointments.
- People about whom a neurologist or neurosurgeon has raised any significant concern.
