Who may be able to join

  • People who are 40 years of age or older.
  • People whose Parkinson's disease has been diagnosed according to Movement Disorder Society standards.
  • People who have not changed their Parkinson's medication in the 4 weeks before the trial starts and who will not change it during the treatment period.

Who may not be able to join

  • People whose brain scan (MRI or CT) shows a localised brain injury or significant damage to the brain's white matter (rated Fazekas grade 3).
  • People with a form of parkinsonism caused by another condition, such as blood vessel problems, other neurological disorders, or medication side effects.
  • People who have had a serious head injury, brain surgery, or a treatment called deep brain stimulation.
  • People who have ferromagnetic (metal) implants in their body, such as cochlear implants or heart pacemakers.
  • People who have a personal or immediate family history of epilepsy, unexplained loss of consciousness, or who are currently taking medication to control epileptic seizures.
  • People who have been diagnosed with a neurological or psychiatric condition other than Parkinson's disease.
  • People with a history of drug abuse or illicit drug use.
  • People who have participated in any clinical trial in the 6 months before this trial.
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or anyone (including men) who plans to have a child within the next 6 months.
  • People considered unsuitable for any other reason, as determined by the trial investigators.
