Who may be able to join
- People who have been diagnosed with Stage III or IV ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer of certain tissue types, confirmed by laboratory testing
- People who have received 4 or more cycles of a platinum-based chemotherapy combination as their first treatment, and a total of 6 cycles of a carboplatin-based chemotherapy combination as their second treatment for ovarian cancer
- People whose ovarian cancer is considered "platinum-sensitive" (meaning the cancer responded to platinum-based chemotherapy)
- People who are able to provide a tissue sample from a tumour that has not previously been treated with radiation
- People living with HIV, provided their HIV is well controlled on anti-HIV medications
- People who test positive for hepatitis B surface antigen, provided they have been on hepatitis B antiviral treatment for at least 4 weeks and have no detectable hepatitis B virus in their blood before entering the trial
- People with a history of hepatitis C infection, provided the hepatitis C virus is undetectable in their blood at the time of screening
- People who have a general health and activity level rated as 0 or 1 on a standard medical scale (meaning fully active or able to carry out light work), assessed within 7 days before joining the trial
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People whose cancer is a non-epithelial type (such as germ cell tumours or sex cord-stromal tumours), or certain other specific tumour types including low-grade, borderline, mucinous, or undifferentiated types
- People whose ovarian cancer is considered platinum-resistant or platinum-refractory (meaning the cancer did not respond well to platinum-based chemotherapy)
- People with a history of severe dry eye syndrome, severe eyelid gland disease, or severe corneal disease that affects healing
- People with active inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis) that requires immune-suppressing medication, or a previous history of these conditions or chronic diarrhoea
- People with uncontrolled or significant heart or blood vessel disease, or brain or blood vessel disease
- People with a history of non-infectious lung inflammation or scarring that required steroid treatment, or who currently have this condition
- People living with HIV who have a history of Kaposi's sarcoma or a condition called Multicentric Castleman's Disease
- People who have received more than 2 previous courses of systemic (whole-body) treatment for ovarian cancer
- People who have received systemic cancer treatment within 3 weeks (or within 5 half-lives of the drug, whichever is shorter) before joining the trial
- People who have received radiation therapy within 2 weeks before joining the trial, or who still have side effects from radiation that require steroid treatment
- People who have another cancer that is currently growing or has required active treatment within the past 3 years
- People who have active cancer spread to the brain or spinal fluid
- People who have an active infection that requires systemic (whole-body) treatment
- People who currently have active mouth sores or inflammation of the mouth lining
