Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 85 years old and have been confirmed to carry the Huntington's disease (HD) gene mutation and/or have a family history of HD along with typical symptoms such as involuntary movements (chorea).
- Your HD is in an early or moderate stage (stages 1, 2, or 3) based on a standard rating scale used for Huntington's disease.
- You have mild to moderate behavioral symptoms related to HD, but none that are considered severe (based on a specific symptom rating scale — confirm with trial site).
- You have been on stable doses of any medications for at least one month before joining.
- You are willing and able to read, understand, and sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
- You have a caregiver (an unpaid family member or friend) who is willing to be present during treatment sessions and fill out questionnaires.
For caregivers, they must also:
- Be an adult who provides unpaid care to someone enrolled in the study.
- Have the mental capacity to give verbal consent to take part in the caregiver portion of the study.
- Be able to read, write, hear, and communicate well enough to answer questions about the person they care for.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have unstable or poorly controlled medical conditions, such as unstable chest pain, uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or advanced cancer.
- You have a history of epilepsy (seizures).
- You have been diagnosed with a major memory or thinking disorder, such as dementia.
- You have had thoughts of suicide with some intention to act on them, or a specific plan to do so, in the three months before screening.
- You are currently taking part in another clinical treatment trial.
- It has been determined that you are not able to give informed consent to participate.
- You have a pacemaker or any other implanted medical device that would make the brain stimulation treatment used in this trial (called tDCS) unsafe for you.
