  • People who have a serious active infection, cancer, have recently had surgery, or have experienced a major physical injury.
  • People who have a history of severe or repeated episodes of very low blood sugar.
  • People who have serious digestive conditions, such as gastroparesis (a condition where the stomach empties too slowly).
  • People who have difficulty following treatment plans or who are unlikely to attend scheduled appointments during the study.
  • People who have a history of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) or who are considered to be at high risk of developing it.
  • People who have a serious psychiatric condition, including schizophrenia, paranoid psychosis, bipolar disorder, or intellectual disability.
  • People who are unable to have an MRI scan, for example due to metallic implants, a pacemaker, or severe claustrophobia.
