Who may not be able to join

- People with ongoing health conditions that can affect blood sugar levels, including active cancer, current tobacco use, HIV infection, kidney failure, liver problems, alcoholism, pancreatitis, an active infection, current pregnancy or breastfeeding, anaemia, severe heart or breathing failure, or significantly elevated cholesterol or triglyceride levels.
- People currently taking medications that affect blood sugar, such as steroids (glucocorticoids), antipsychotic medications, or the oral contraceptive pill.
- People with a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes or a history of diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious diabetes complication).
- People currently using a weekly GLP-1 receptor agonist injection (a type of diabetes or weight-loss medication taken once a week).
