Who may be able to join
- Women who have gone through menopause, meaning their periods have stopped for at least 12 months, confirmed by a hormone blood test

Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People whose type 2 diabetes is treated with injectable medications, or with tablets that can cause low blood sugar (such as glinides or sulfonylureas)
- People whose long-term blood sugar control measure (called HbA1c) is above 8%
- People who have any of the following health conditions: heart failure, severe kidney disease, liver cirrhosis, or any chronic liver disease
- People with any other medical condition that the study doctor believes could affect their safety or ability to take part
- People with a past or current history of a serious eating disorder
- People who are not able to understand the consent form or the instructions for keeping a fasting diary
- People who are currently taking part in, or who have taken part in, another clinical study involving an experimental medication or medical device within the last 30 days
- Women who are currently taking hormone replacement therapy for menopause
