Who may be able to join
- People who are willing to take part voluntarily, have signed a consent form, are able to follow the study requirements, and are willing to attend follow-up appointments.
- People aged between 18 and 75 years old (calculated from the date the consent form is signed).
- People who have been newly diagnosed with epithelial ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer, confirmed by laboratory examination of tissue samples.
- People with an advanced stage of the disease (FIGO stage III or IV): those with stage III must have had one surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible; those with stage IV must have had a biopsy and/or tumour-removal surgery; and all participants must be able to provide 10 tissue sample slides for research purposes.
- People whose tumour has been tested and found to be HRP (a specific biological marker — confirm with trial site).
- People whose cancer has responded to platinum-based chemotherapy, either with no detectable signs of disease remaining (complete response) or with a measurable reduction in the tumour (partial response), as defined by specific medical imaging and blood test standards.
- People whose CA125 blood test results (a marker linked to ovarian cancer) meet specific criteria before treatment: if the first result is within the normal range, no second test is needed; if the first result is above the normal range, a second test must be done at least 7 days later, and the second result must not be 15% or more higher than the first.
- People who are enrolled and begin the trial treatment within 8 to 12 weeks after their last chemotherapy session.
- People with an ECOG performance score of 0 or 1, meaning they are fully active or have only minor restrictions on physical activity (confirm with trial site).
- People whose major organ functions are within acceptable ranges, based on blood tests taken without blood products or growth factor treatments in the 14 days before enrolment, including: sufficient levels of haemoglobin, neutrophils, and platelets; liver enzyme and bilirubin levels within acceptable limits; and kidney function within acceptable limits.
- People with the ability to have children who agree to use at least one medically approved form of contraception during treatment and for 6 months after the last dose, who have a negative pregnancy blood test within 72 hours before the first dose, and who are not breastfeeding.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who have had another cancer in the past 5 years, or who currently have another cancer that cannot be cured — exceptions may apply for certain treated skin cancers, thyroid cancer, cervical pre-cancer, or breast cancer with no recurrence for more than 3 years after completed treatment.
- People who have previously used PARP inhibitor medicines (a specific type of cancer drug — confirm with trial site).
- People who are unable to swallow tablets normally, or who have digestive system problems that researchers believe could affect how the study drug is absorbed.
- People who have had a hole form in their digestive tract, or major surgery, within the 4 weeks before the first dose; or people who have had a serious bleeding event, or who have wounds, ulcers, or fractures that have not healed.
- People whose medical imaging (CT or MRI scan) shows the tumour is growing into large blood vessels or has unclear boundaries with blood vessels.
- People whose blood pressure is not well controlled (systolic pressure at or above 150 mmHg and/or diastolic pressure at or above 90 mmHg).
- People whose urine test shows elevated protein levels, confirmed by a 24-hour urine collection showing 1.0 g or more of protein.
- People who have had a bowel obstruction in the past 3 months.
- People who have cancer-related fluid build-up in the abdomen or chest that is causing symptoms requiring draining, or who have had such fluid drained within 2 months before the first trial dose.
- People with abnormal blood clotting function, a tendency to bleed, or who are receiving clot-dissolving or blood-thinning treatments — noting that low-dose preventive blood-thinning treatment may be permitted during the trial (confirm with trial site).
- People who have taken part in another clinical drug trial within the previous 4 weeks.
- People who have taken certain strong medications that affect how the body processes drugs (known as strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers) before the first dose — unless enough time has passed for those medicines to clear the body; these medications are also not permitted during the study (confirm with trial site for the specific list).
- People who receive other systemic cancer treatments during the study period.
- People known to be allergic to any ingredients in Senaparib or Bevacizumab (the study drugs).
- People who, in the researchers' judgement, have other serious conditions — such as significant mental illness, major abnormalities in lab results, or family or social circumstances — that could affect the safety of participation or the reliable collection of study data.
