  • People with very high blood pressure that is not controlled (top number at or above 180, or bottom number at or above 110 mmHg).

  • People who have taken weight-loss medications in the 3 months before consent, or whose weight has been unstable around the time of screening.
  • People who have had cancer (other than a type of minor skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma) within the past 5 years, or who are currently receiving cancer treatment.
  • People who have HIV.
  • People with severe disease affecting the blood vessels in their limbs.
  • People with blood disorders that cause breakdown of red blood cells, such as hemolytic anemia, malaria, or babesiosis.
  • People currently taking steroid medications throughout their body (systemic corticosteroids), those who have had a change in thyroid hormone medication dose within the past 6 weeks, or people with uncontrolled hormone or gland disorders other than type 2 diabetes.
  • People with substance use issues within the 3 months before the trial, or ongoing conditions that may make it difficult to follow the trial requirements.
  • People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or not willing to use effective contraception during the trial (applies to both females and males where relevant).
  • People who have taken part in another clinical trial within 30 days before screening.
  • People considered unsuitable for any other reason, as determined by the trial doctor.
