Who may be able to join
- People who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
- People whose HbA1c (a blood test that measures average blood sugar levels over about 3 months) is between 7.0% and 11.5%.
- People whose Body Mass Index (BMI) is 20 or above at the time of their screening appointment.
- People whose weight has been stable (within 5% up or down) for at least 12 weeks before their screening appointment.

- People who have type 1 diabetes.
- People who have serious long-term diabetes complications such as certain eye conditions (including advanced diabetic eye disease or fluid build-up at the centre of the eye) that need urgent treatment.
- People who have had a serious diabetes-related emergency involving very high blood sugar (such as diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state) in the 24 weeks before joining the trial.
- People who have had a severe low blood sugar episode in the 12 months before screening, or three or more moderate low blood sugar episodes in the 3 months before screening, or who currently have symptoms related to low blood sugar (confirm with trial site).
- People who have had a serious injury, serious infection, or surgery in the 12 weeks before screening that may have affected their blood sugar levels.
- People who have received a blood transfusion in the 12 weeks before screening, or who have donated or lost a significant amount of blood in the weeks before screening, or who have a known inherited blood condition such as thalassemia, sickle cell anaemia, or a condition causing the breakdown of red blood cells.
- People who have any other hormone-related condition (apart from type 2 diabetes) that is unstable or being treated and affects blood sugar levels, such as an overactive thyroid, Cushing's syndrome, or acromegaly.
