Who may be able to join
- People who are willing to take part voluntarily, sign a consent form, and follow the study rules closely.
- Women aged between 18 and 75 years.
- People who have had open surgery, keyhole surgery, or a needle biopsy, and whose tissue results confirmed a diagnosis of epithelial ovarian cancer (specific types: high-grade serous adenocarcinoma or endometrioid adenocarcinoma), peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer, at an advanced stage (FIGO 2018 Stage III or IV).
- People whose cancer meets the medical criteria for receiving chemotherapy before surgery — for example, because doctors assessed that full surgical removal is unlikely, because the person's health makes immediate surgery too risky, or because no prior cancer treatment has been received for this condition (note: a biopsy or lymph node removal done only for staging purposes is still allowed).
- People who agree to be tested for BRCA1/2 gene mutations or a related genetic marker called HRD.
- People who have at least one tumour that can be measured using standard imaging criteria (RECIST 1.1).
- People whose expected survival is at least 12 weeks.
- People with a performance status score of 0–1 (meaning mostly able to carry out daily activities without restriction) for one group in the study (Cohort 1), or a score of 2 (meaning some limitation but still able to care for oneself) for the other group (Cohort 2).
- People whose blood, liver, and kidney test results meet specific minimum levels of health, including adequate white blood cell counts, platelet levels, haemoglobin, liver enzyme levels, and kidney function (confirm specific values with trial site).
- People of childbearing potential who test negative for pregnancy within 7 days before joining the study, are not currently breastfeeding, and agree to use suitable contraception during the study and for 120 days after it ends.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People whose ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer is not of epithelial origin (for example, germ cell tumours), or whose tumour is classified as borderline (low malignant potential).
- People who are receiving any other cancer treatment at the same time as this study, including chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, herbal medicine, or other experimental treatments.
- People who have a known allergy or sensitivity to the study drug or to similar medicines.
- People who cannot swallow tablets or capsules, or who have a digestive condition that may affect how the study drug is absorbed — applies to one group only (Cohort 2).
- People who have previously been treated with a type of drug called a PARP inhibitor — applies to one group only (Cohort 2).
- People who have brain metastases (cancer that has spread to the brain) that are causing symptoms or are not under control and require active treatment.
- People with an active or recurring autoimmune disease (a condition where the immune system attacks the body), except for certain mild conditions that do not require ongoing systemic treatment, stable thyroid conditions managed with hormone replacement, or Type 1 diabetes managed with stable insulin doses.
- People who have had major surgery within 3 weeks before the study starts, or who have not fully recovered from a prior surgery.
- People who have previously had an organ transplant or a stem cell transplant.
- People who are known to have HIV infection, or who report having it.
- People with active hepatitis B or hepatitis C virus detected at certain levels in their blood (confirm specific thresholds with trial site).
- People who have previously received treatments that work through the immune system to fight cancer, such as checkpoint inhibitors (e.g., anti-PD-1, anti-PD-L1, or anti-CTLA-4 antibodies), immune-activating antibodies, immune cell therapies, or any similar treatment.
- People who have received a live vaccine within 4 weeks before the study begins, or who plan to receive one during the study.
- People who have had another type of cancer within the past 3 years, with the exception of certain skin cancers, non-invasive breast cancer (ductal carcinoma in situ), or cervical carcinoma in situ.
- People who have been diagnosed with a blood condition called myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) or acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) at any point.
- People who received a platelet or red blood cell transfusion within 4 weeks before starting the study drug.
- People who are pregnant, currently breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study.
- People whom the trial doctors consider unsuitable to participate for any other reason.
