Who may be able to join
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People with a body mass index (BMI) of 27 or above who also have health conditions related to their weight, OR people with a BMI of 35 or above regardless of other conditions
- People whose treating doctor has determined that the medication tirzepatide is clinically appropriate for them
- People who are citizens of Paraguay or have permanent residency there
- People who live in Asunción or the surrounding metropolitan area, or who are able to travel to attend regular appointments

- People who have a known allergy or sensitivity to tirzepatide
- People who have a personal or family history of a specific type of thyroid cancer (medullary thyroid carcinoma) or a related genetic condition called MEN 2 syndrome
- People who have had acute pancreatitis (sudden inflammation of the pancreas) in the past 12 months, or who have ongoing chronic pancreatitis
- People who have a serious ongoing condition affecting the digestive system
- People who have had weight-loss (bariatric) surgery in the past 12 months
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with severely reduced kidney function (confirm with trial site)
- People with severely reduced liver function (confirm with trial site)
- People with an unstable heart or blood vessel condition
- People with an active cancer diagnosis, except for a type of skin cancer (non-melanoma) that has been fully removed
- People who are currently using another medication in the same class as tirzepatide, known as GLP-1 receptor agonists
- People who have taken part in another clinical intervention trial within the past 30 days
