Who may and may not be able to join

Who may be able to join

  • A stored tissue sample (from surgery or biopsy, preserved in a specific way called formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded, or FFPE) that contains a type of ovarian cancer called High Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer, and has enough material to be cut into multiple thin slices for testing.
  • The stored tissue sample must be no older than 5 years, to ensure the quality is sufficient for analysis.
  • The tissue sample must contain at least 100 living tumour cells.

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • Tissue samples that are either too old (collected more than 5 years ago) or too small or poor in quality (containing fewer than 100 living tumour cells per slice).
  • Tissue that was collected after the patient had already received treatment with a drug called Mirvetuximab soravtansine, or any other therapy that targets a protein called FRα (folate receptor alpha).
  • Tissue collected using a fine needle, or samples that are in liquid form, including fluid from the abdomen (called ascites).
