For the High-risk group: People with a high risk of developing a non-communicable disease, confirmed by having at least 2 of the following 3 conditions — (a) diagnosed high blood pressure currently managed with medication; (b) diagnosed high cholesterol or abnormal blood fats currently managed with medication; (c) a significant smoking history (more than 20 pack-years) and/or a parent, sibling, or child with a history of lung cancer.
- People with a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 35.0 kg/m².
- People who are willing to complete study questionnaires.
- People who are willing to attend future study visits and medical tests as required by the study plan.
- People who agree to have their health outcomes tracked through linkage to their existing health records.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who are pregnant at the time of the first visit (based on self-report — no test is required).
- For the Low-risk group: People who have a past or current history of the diseases this study is targeting, any other significant health conditions, symptoms, or abnormal test results suggesting a health problem at the first visit, or any condition that is not well managed. For the High-risk group: Aside from the high blood pressure and cholesterol conditions listed as qualifying criteria, people with a history of the diseases this study is targeting, other significant health conditions, symptoms, or abnormal test results at the first visit, or any condition that is not well managed.
- For the Low-risk group: People who are currently taking any ongoing prescription medication that works throughout the whole body. For the High-risk group: People who are currently taking any ongoing prescription medication that works throughout the whole body, except for the blood pressure or cholesterol medications that qualify them for the High-risk group.
- People with a history of HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, or Hepatitis E infection at the first visit.
- People considered to be vulnerable participants (confirm with trial site).
- People who are unlikely to be able to follow the study requirements as planned.
