Who may be able to join
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who have been diagnosed with prediabetes or Type 2 diabetes

- People whose weight has been stable (within plus or minus 10 pounds) for at least 2 months before joining
- People who personally own an iPhone 6s or newer (running iOS 16.4 or later) or an Android phone running version 12 or newer, and who are willing to use it to download the study app and connect study devices
- People who personally own, or have access to at home, a computer or tablet
- People who live in the North San Francisco Bay area and are willing to travel to Novato, CA for two morning clinic visits at the Buck Institute
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- People who are currently using any Abbott continuous glucose monitor (CGM), whether prescribed by a doctor or bought over the counter
- People whose BMI is below 18 or above 40
- People who have an allergy to dairy or soy
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes or a condition called MODY (Maturity-Onset Diabetes of the Young)
- People who use an insulin pump
- People who are currently taking any of the following types of medication: glucocorticoids (a type of steroid), non-selective beta blockers (such as propranolol), or thiazide diuretics (a type of water pill)
- People who currently use any tobacco products, including cigarettes, vapes, chewing tobacco, or dip
- People who have been hospitalised overnight for any reason in the past 3 months
- People who have a history of pancreatic disease (other than diabetes) or have had a pancreas transplant
- People who have had any active cancer diagnosis within the past 12 months
- People who have had weight-loss (bariatric) surgery or other gut surgery that may affect how the body processes blood sugar or causes delayed stomach emptying
- People who have a long-term illness affecting the liver, heart, or other body systems in a way that is likely to affect blood sugar or interfere with taking part in the study
