- People who have any of the following diagnoses, treatments, or health measurements that would prevent safe use of insulin or the AID system: kidney function measured as an eGFR below 15 mL/min/1.73m² (confirm with trial site); currently being treated with the medication hydroxyurea or hydroxycarbamide; receiving continuous tube feeding or intravenous nutrition; a clinically significant pancreatic disease; taking steroid medication (such as prednisone) at a dose above 5 mg per day; expected to need admission to an intensive care unit; or currently receiving dialysis treatment.
