- People who are right-handed

Who may not be able to join

- People with significant memory or thinking difficulties, defined as scoring below 23 on a standard cognitive test called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)
- People who are currently taking antidepressant medications
- People who have a medical reason that makes a specific ear-based nerve stimulation treatment (called transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation, or taVNS) unsuitable for them (confirm with trial site)
- People who have received a type of nerve stimulation therapy called vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) within the past month
- People who have serious conditions affecting the brain, kidneys, heart, or liver in addition to their Parkinson's disease
