Who may be able to join

  • People who have been formally diagnosed with Idiopathic Parkinson's Disease at a mild to moderate stage (Hoehn and Yahr stages I–III)
  • People between the ages of 40 and 80 years
  • People whose first language is Turkish
  • People with sufficient thinking and memory ability to take part in therapy sessions, as measured by a standard cognitive test (a score of 24 or above on the Mini-Mental State Examination)

Who may not be able to join

  • People who have another significant neurological condition (such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, or multiple sclerosis) or an active voice condition (such as vocal cord nodules or laryngeal cancer)
  • People with hearing loss that has not been corrected and that would affect speech assessments or therapy participation
  • People who have been diagnosed with dementia or severe cognitive impairment that would prevent them from taking part in the intensive therapy program
  • People who have had laryngeal (voice box) surgery or deep brain stimulation surgery within the past six months
  • People who have previously taken part in LSVT-LOUD therapy or any intensive speech therapy program within the past year
